It is interesting how many things are buried in Online Encyclopedias... Encyclopaedia Britannica has sections covering notable quotations, a world atlas, compare countries and the recently added gateway to the classics section. Grolier's has content for the elementary, middle, and upper middle school student with an animals compenent content added in the last year or so. Bottom line, Grolier's which is great for young adults and Encyclopaedia Britannica which has the greatest depth and breadth of sources are two excellent starting points when just enough will do on a wide variety of topics.

Encyclopedias : When Just Enough Will Do...
