SlideShare and Flicker Update

A Thursday cool websites update on Slideshare and Flickr. For those of you who may be unware of what SlideShare is, the resource provides hosting for MS PowerPoint slides or PDF's in a presentation format with the ability to add sound. One library who has used slideshare is the City of Casa Grande Public Library with database slideshare overviews. What I like about slideshare, pending a fast Internet download time, is that you can speed up the sections or slow slides down based upon your own interest in a presentation. I could also find some Library 2.0 conference presentations as well on the website. The second little update is that flicker.com now has short movie clips up to 90 seconds in length that can be uploaded or viewed. In trying out the video sections this afternoon, at times clips would seem to just stall out (maybe a download speed issue). Overall, content in Slideshare or Flickr can be really useful.
